Valentine’s Day Decorations

January 15, 2016 by 25 Comments

When it comes to decorating, my sister-in-law has a knack for making things cute (and for turning Pinterest ideas into reality). Her style is “classy but elegant,” and she does a wonderful job at creating decor that isn’t too simple or too flashy. What do you think of her Valentine’s Day decorations? They’re all made from items she had on hand. (She also has a talent for turning everyday things into festive accent pieces.)

That's nice, but I personally don't understand why people feel the need to decorate for every holiday?

It's mid January, Valentines is in mid February. So I think it is early to decorate. However I will say that your sister in law is giving people more time to enjoy the good job of decorating she has done. If her love doesn't produce flowers and candy on the day it may then get wintery in that house!

This is so cute and creative! Your sister-in-law is so talented!!!
I love reading your blog, and you and Mr. Handsome make such a sweet couple!
If this question is too personal, please don't feel pressured to answer, but I've been wondering what physical boundaries you and your husband set during your dating-courtship, as far as holding hands, hugging, kissing, etc.
Also, when you originally began the relationship was it with the intention of possible marriage, or simply just to get better accquainted???

      Hi there!

We set very conservative physical boundaries, with the goal of maintaining physical purity. We started our relationship with marriage in mind. 🙂

      Blessings,

That's awesome! It is such an encouragement to me to find other young people who believe in setting Biblical standards of purity.
Just out of curiosity, did you save your first kiss for your wedding? Engagement???

      Hi there,

We would rather not share that bit of personal information. 🙂

Okay, that is understandable! So sorry if the question was too personal.
I am curious though if you both had made a commitment in that area ahead of time (i.e. before you were in any relationship) to wait until a specific milestone (engagement or whatever), or if this was something you discussed together later, and came to an agreement on…if you don't mind sharing! 🙂

That's okay. 🙂 We did discuss those boundaries when we started our relationship, and we continued to keep them in mind throughout our relationship to make sure we were following them.

      Blessings,

I have written about them, but my husband's family is much larger, so there are more exciting updates to post about. 🙂

We do watch Hallmark movies from time to time. They tend to be more wholesome than mainstream movies.

Do you watch the historical Hallmark series, When Calls the Heart??? It's a really awesome family-oriented show that has become quite popular among our more conservative circles – you should look into it! 🙂

I haven't heard of Joanne Fluke, but we do watch "When Calls the Heart" (on Amazon). We can't wait for season three to start! (My husband is so sweet to watch it with me.) Just hoping that it doesn't turn into a soap opera. The first season was very good, but the second season had a little too much drama for my tastes.

I so totally agree with what you said about season 1 & 2! Just in the first episode of season 3, it seems as though it may be an improvement over the second season, but we'll have to see what develops as the season continues. It's so fun to find another Jack & Elizabeth fan! 🙂

I was thinking the same thing when we watched the New Year's special! They must have received feedback from fans like us, who thought the second season was bordering on soap opera. I'm glad they listened. We will have to chat again once the third season starts. 🙂

The Valentine decorations are cute indeed. On February 1, I put a heart on my front door. There is a snowman and snow flakes on my side door. There's also alot of different snowmen around in my house. They have been up since December 1,and will be up until the end of February. I like snowmen and enjoy looking at them. Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons. Thank you so much for letting me share this., and thank you for sharing you with your readers. Take care.

Thanks for sharing! Snowmen make great decorations because you don't have to take them down after Christmas. I hope to find some cute ones soon! 🙂

These are so cute! I especially like the branches with the hearts on it. I might steal a few of these ideas.

Very pretty! I like decorating for holidays although sometimes don't feel I do a very good job of it. I really enjoy seeing how other people decorate and getting creative and new ideas from them.
