Our Wedding March

January 26, 2016 by 23 Comments

A few of my readers requested that I post a video of Mr. Handsome playing the version of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” (my favorite song) that he performed as I walked down the aisle to him at our wedding ceremony. Here’s a the video that we recorded last night, as well as a few pictures. Enjoy!

What made you want him to play as you walked down the aisle? Did he feel it detracted from your grand entrance and watching you walk down the aisle?

      Hi there,

I'm not sure what gave me the idea of having him play as I walked down the aisle, but it had been a dream of mine since we started our relationship. Other musicians offered to accompany him, but I politely turned them down.

It didn't take the focus off me at all. In fact, it made the moment even more special. I've seen him play guitar hundreds of times, but the look on his face as he played that song on our wedding day was totally different. πŸ™‚

      Thanks for reading my blog!

    Beautiful song.
Makes me smile every time I hear it.
Love Mr handsome's rendition of it.
Were you nervous Ellie as you walked down the aisle?

      Hi there,

I told myself that I wasn't going to be nervous, but when the time came for my dad and me to enter the sanctuary, my stomach dropped. So then I placed my focus on trying not to cry, but I lost that battle, too. Halfway down the aisle, I started tearing up. My dad helped by speaking softly to me as we walked. Thankfully, it was a short aisle, so we made it up to the front quickly.

Your husband has many talents! I imagine how lovely it must have been walking down the isle to him as he played this song for you. It is one of my favorites also. My daughter sang this as a duet at church and it was beautiful as well.

Thank you! The song is beautiful both as an instrumental and with the words. I've never heard it as a duet, but I'm sure it would be lovely.

    Hi Ellie,
I hope you don't mind me asking this on you blog.
This is just an idea and I don't know if you could even do it BUT I think it would be cool if on the title of the Duggar and Bates blogs where the pictures of them are, you could have it so when you clicked on one of them it would go to a page on them. Say you click on Jana. It wo go to a page talking about her and tell fun facts and the like. Like I said just an idea:-) Thanks πŸ™‚

      Hi there,

That would be a great idea, but unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to create individual links on each image in the header. It would be neat if we could!

      Blessings,
      Ellie

      Hi there,

We invited the Duggars, but they had multiple scheduling conflicts on that weekend.
