Bird Paintings for Mother’s Day

June 24, 2017 by 14 Comments

Having a hobbyist painter for a husband sure does come in handy when you need a gift for a friend or relative but have absolutely no idea what to give them. We planned ahead for Mother’s Day this year, and Mr. Handsome made paintings for both our mothers. For my mother, he painted two lovebirds. When I was a child, we had two pet birds that we all grew to love, so all four of us sort of became “bird people.”

For his mother, Mr. Handsome painted two yellow finches, a type of bird that she sees outside her kitchen window all the time.

If either of these paintings interest you, shoot us an email at NashvilleWife@gmail.com, and Mr. Handsome would be happy to make one for you!

Nice work Mr Handsome and thank you Ellie for showing the pictures on your blog. It is coincidental that today you posted these bird paintings, because I was sitting by a window upstairs and a Robin landed on the evergreen tree bow just outside. Can you imagine that? Has Mr Handsome done any Robin birds yet? If so can you please direct me to the post for those pictures? Thanks to you two for sharing your enjoyment of the beauty of birds!

I took my dogs for a walk on the lawn and a fledgling robin was trying to fly. The dogs came onto it and had it. I rescued it and it appeared fine. But, I held it for a moment, which caused it's heart to pound so hard that it just died in my hand. I felt badly. A robin in the trees looked distressed. I quickly buried it in an old mole hole.

I do love robins! Mr. Handsome hasn't painted any yet, but he says that he definitely could. If you are interested in buying one, just shoot us an email (NashvilleWife@gmail.com), and he can paint one and send you a picture of it to see if you like it.

Both are so pretty! I love how he makes his sky all different colors! Can you convince him to film a tutorial? πŸ˜‰

Thank you! I mentioned it to him, so he's thinking about it. It would be a long video, so it would take some planning, but we'll see. πŸ™‚
