On Christmas morning, we awoke to the news of yet another destructive tragedy in Nashville (following the damage caused by severe tornadoes in March and looting in May).
In the early hours of the morning, a suspicious RV was parked in front of the AT&T transmission building in downtown Nashville, just a couple blocks away from the famous Broadway strip. Nearby residents awoke to the sound of gunshots. Soon after, a voice on a loudspeaker began warning everyone to evacuate the area within 15 minutes. The announcement continued until the RV exploded.
There appear to have been no civilian casualties, due to the incredible bravery of 6 Nashville police officers, who risked their lives to knock on residents’ doors and instruct them to leave, despite the ominous countdown and impending danger.
As I read about the incident, I thought to myself, “This sounds like the plot of a movie.” We are hopeful that the federal agents will solve this terrible crime.
