Flowers of Middle Tennessee

May 18, 2021 by 14 Comments

Spring has sprung in Middle Tennessee, and we are heading into summer. Last month, I took these photos of wildflowers in our area, and I thought it would be fun to share them. Isn’t is incredible how God created so many unique, intricately designed flowers for our enjoyment?

If we have any plant enthusiasts in the audience, feel free to chime and tell us what these are called.

I’ve seen these flowers in our area but I have no idea what they are. I found them very pretty and I love how God gives us so many types of flowers.

It’s warming up where I live. Today 79, the rest of the week will be in the 80’s no rain. It’s still cool at night which I like. I enjoy the pictures. Tennessee has some pretty wildflowers. 😊

    Hi Ellie,
As they say, there’s a free app for identifying plants! It’s called PictureThis. You can open the app and hit identify. It then opens your phone camera and you take the picture of the plant. The app will then identify the plant and give you all sorts of fun information about it. Enjoy!!

The pictures might show the following genera (or related genera) in that order:
      1. Senecio
      2. Stellaria
      3. Trillium
      4. Silene
      5. Erigeron
      6. Oxalis
I don’t know american plants because I’m from Germany and I don’t use a plant identification app. I’m curious about the answers the app gave you.

        3. Toadshade – Trillium Sessile

I love when I start seeing all the wild violets sprouting up along our hiking trails. It’s a welcome reminder that Spring is here.
