Decorating For a Party

March 14, 2016 by 29 Comments

I have four very talented sisters-in-law (Anne, 24; Catherine, 19; Mae, 14; and Lena, almost 13). In addition to playing three or four musical instruments each, they have a host of other skills, including sewing, baking, cake decorating, party decorating, home decorating, needle pointing, and plenty of other things that I’m forgetting right now. This weekend, Lena had several friends over to celebrate her 13th birthday party. I was blown away by the elaborate decorations she created out of paper. (That’s right, paper!)

What do you think? If you like what you see, click here to find out how Lena made her decorations.

Wow, that means you must be really young!!! If Anne was in her last year of college while you were in your first (even if you each took only three years for college), that means she would be at least two years older than you and you'd be 22 at the oldest! That's amazing – your career as a 22-year-old is what most can only dream of. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the encouragement! You're correct about my age. πŸ™‚ Both Anne and I finished our 4-year degrees in three years.

Out of curiosity, why did you choose to finish so quickly? Was it a lot of extra work?

Hey Ellie, did you also go to college early? I was wondering because you said you were homeschooled ( I'm currently homeschooled:)) and I know its a lot more flexible like you could do high school for 2 years get a GED and then do community college and then college or just go straight to college.

      Hi there,

I started college at age 18 but finished in 3 years. I know people who completed a 2-year community college degree during high school and then started the second two years of their bachelors degree at age 18. Homeschooling is a wonderful thing!

I finished early because I was eager to get out into the "real world." It was a lot of extra work. (During my second year, I took 24 credit hours one semester and 21 the other. The average is 14-16 per semester.) But I made it through!

24 is a lot of credits. I was going to go to college but the work was to hard for me to do since I was in Special Ed in High School. College work is hard. I just started working right after high school.
