Our oldest son, Little Buddy, has become quite the athletic little seven-year-old. He plays soccer and basketball, rides his bike, and loves to swim. (He is has also recently started practicing tricks on the yo-yo, but that’s another post for another day.) While we were on our annual trip to to the Florida Panhandle, he spent hours snorkeling, both in the pool and in the ocean.
He stayed in the shallow water, and we stayed close to him. He loved it. He also did some boogie boarding, and I enjoyed doing that with him. What made it all the more memorable was that he was using the same yellow U.S. Divers snorkel and green Morey boogie board that I used as a kid.
Littlest Buddy is three years younger, but he is showing interest in soccer, so we signed him up to play this year. I will report back on how he enjoys it.
I never snorkel but I thought about it. I never talk to anyone that went snorkeling. Did Little Buddy say what he saw underwater?
He saw some little white fish, but that was it 🙂
I have never learned to swim (too afraid) so I don’t snorkel but I’m glad your son enjoys it. Let us know how Littlest Buddy enjoys soccer!😍
I absolutely LOVE to snorkel. When going to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary with my husband, it was the most magical experience to go on a snorkeling tour where they take you by boat to a specific place where there are thousands of fish, sea turtles, and SO much to see underwater! It was a whole new world to discover and I loved every minute of it! I would love to find some special spots in Florida where there would be lots of beautiful fish as well! All my boys love to snorkel as well, though here in WA we don’t get to see too many interesting things, but they did find some big fish to see in Lake Chelan where we swim in the summer!
