Mr. Handsome and I would like to take a few moments to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! It’s so neat to think that there are billions of people across the world celebrating at the same time, but with different traditions and customs. We would love to hear how you are celebrating.
For us this year, Christmas Day is a day of relaxation and to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday, which is Christ’s birth.
Regina Shea
Yes we too are reflecting on Christ’s birth. We are so thankful for Him. Our oldest daughter is visiting from CA. We are so blessed to have her here.
I’m also baking cookies with my girls and making a special meal.
Have a blessed Christmas!
Ellie
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Regina! What type of cookies did you make?
Ellie

We made sugar cookies and they were so delicious! It was a blessed time indeed. You will have a blast when your sweet son is old enough to make cookies with you!😊
Ellie
I do look forward to that day!

I didn’t celebrated Christmas. Sat at home and watch Hallmark Christmas movies and Watch Days of our lives.
But Monday night Dec 23 I had 4 deer in my front yard. Then they came back Tuesday night .
Sara
S. That’s neat their was deer in your front yard. The must have lost Santa Claus on Christmas eve if they were at your house.

Happy Holidays to you and yours as well, Ellie. We’re you just at home or did you get to go back to one of your families for Christmas Day? We were at a in-laws house with around 30 people for the day so it was nice to get back to our quiet house in the evening for some relaxation. We did something a little different this year to keep all the women and girls together (even the little girls) busy around the long strung out table in the afternoon after a big dinner and so we proceeded to make little heart shaped rice pocket warmers for our pockets! They turned out really cute and every girl and woman got to take home a set of pocket warmers for a really cold snowy day. Hope your Christmas turned out well.
Ellie
That’s a neat idea, Candi! Glad you and your family had a nice celebration. We did both—a celebration with family and our own celebration at home. I agree that it’s always good to get back home and relax after all the holiday busyness.

We had a quiet Christmas. We opened our stockings first and then the other gifts. It was just the three of us.
Blessings for 2020

Sounds very quaint and lovely. Did you have a big meal?

I was working in a senior citizens residence kitchen during the day on Christmas Day. The cooks prepared a real traditional feast. My role was to help wash dishes and the regular cook had the day off to be with family. I went home with Christmas dinner under foil wrap and a dainty tray. I was happy to have participated in all the festivities at the residence. I enjoy reading your blog and wish you all a happy holiday season!

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I am from Germany and I saw that the bible in your photo is in German! Do yo understand it? In Germany, we have lots of Christmas traditions. In my family, we go to church on Christmas Eve, where children play the story of Jesus‘ birth. At home we have a Christmas tree and sing a lot of Christmas carols. My children and me all play instruments and really love to sing and play Christmas music. We read exactly the words that you can see in your photo, after that we unwrap our gifts and have a nice evening with a special dinner. The 25th and 26th we attend the mass and spend the time with the extended family and a lot of food! Although it‘s a very busy time, I love it so much!
Ellie
Merry Christmas, Ursula! I don’t know much German, although I tried to learn in high school. My family is from Germany, and I have some family members who don’t speak English.
What instruments do you and your children play? That sounds like a wonderful Christmas!

We play piano, harpsichord, violins, cello and guitar. Last year my husband started to learn playing the bass. We have only two daughters, but we play different instruments (I‘m a music teacher).

Christmas was kind of somber this year. I lost my younger brother to a tragic accident the first week in Dec., he was 62. My hubby and I always go to our daughters house on Christmas, which is always nice. Hope the Handsome Family have a blessed New Year!
Ellie
I am so sorry to hear that! What a terrible tragedy. I can imagine that the holidays have been very difficult without your brother. Praying for peace and comfort for you and your family.

A candle, on top of a bible, next to a baby blanket and hay. Were you trying to cause a fire?

Why the sarcasm, I love the arrangement, a beautiful religious picture.
