Choo Choo Hotel

February 18, 2016 by 10 Comments

As I mentioned in Monday’s post, we spent the weekend in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We drove to the top of Lookout Mountain, visited Ruby Falls, toured the Tennessee Aquarium, and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

On Saturday, we spent the night at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, a historic train station that was converted into a vacation complex in the 1970s. We slept in an old Pullman railroad car! The room was a bit drafty, but we were able to solve the problem by turning the thermostat up to 85 degrees. It was a lovely vacation!

Trains are something special to me because I grew up in that environment, having a Dad who worked for the railroad.
Now some of those railway lines have been taken out altogether. I have slept on the train as a passenger when the seats are converted to bunk beds with curtains and in a little room too. Thanks for sharing your story and it is nice to know how you kept yourselves warm.

I saw a book yesterday and thought of you. Not sure if you would like or not but it is called "Magic with Mason Jars". I know you like them so I though maybe you would like the book. Its on Lakeside Collection if you are πŸ™‚

Hi, I am such a fan of you and your husband! Love his paintings by the way!
My question was how did you curl your hair in the Valentine's photo?
It's so pretty! Could you maybe do a tutorial? PLEASE REPLY!
    Love In Christ,

      Thank you, Julia!

I have three curlers: the Conair Instant Heat 1/2-Inch, the Conair Instant Heat 1-Inch, and the Remington 1 to 1-1/2 Inch (made of ceramic). On Valentine's Day, I used the Remington curler. I start by putting Paul Mitchell Round Trip Liquid Curl Definer in my hair, followed by Loreal Boost It Blow Out Heatspray. I curl and spray each strand and then flip my head upside down and shake my hair around, and then spray it one last time. I'll film a tutorial soon. πŸ™‚
