Regular physical activity has always been important to me. I was involved in sports throughout my childhood and teen years (more about that in another post.) In college, my friend and I worked out most days, either at the campus gym or in the small gym that we had in the basement of the house where we lived. The habit of working out continued after my college graduation, and when Mr. Handsome and I got married, we were thrilled to have a gym a few short minutes from our rental home.
Fast-forward four years, and the house we bought just isn’t close enough to a gym for it to make sense for us to join. And with all the busyness of life, who has time for the gym anyways? I enjoy running and walking on our street, but weather gets in the way of that too often for it to be a dependable means of working out. For me, not working out is not an option, so I had to find a new way to be active three to four times a week.
Last fall, I started using Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home DVDs, and they quickly became a regular part of my schedule. I had used them in the past, before getting married, but had to stop when I lost track of them in a move. I came across some of Leslie’s DVDs at the bookstore when I was about 20 weeks pregnant and decided to give them another try. Ladies, these workouts are amazing! Leslie Sandsone is a certified fitness instructor who is also a wife and mom of three. The workouts are based on the idea that walking a few miles each day can greatly improve your health. But her routines are more than just a walk. She throws in additional moves to provide a full-body workout that will leave you feeling energized.
Whether you are trying to get your body back after having a baby, hoping to get back in shape for other reasons, or are just looking for a new fitness routine that can be done in the comfort of your living room, I strongly encourage you to check out Walk at Home. Leslie has a variety of different walking workouts that can be found on her website. Whether you want to Walk Off the Pounds, Walk to the Hits, Walk Down Your Blood Sugar, or Tone Every Zone, Leslie has a workout for you. As someone who has gone through different levels of physical fitness throughout life, I’ll tell you that these workouts are appropriate for anyone. (I suppose if you were training for the Tour de France, you might need something a bit longer and more intense, but most of us don’t have to worry about that.)
I am thrilled to be partnering with Walk at Home for this sponsored post. It really bothers me when bloggers promote products that they don’t actually use, but I can honestly say that I love these workouts, and I started using them years before this sponsorship was even on the horizon. (I ended up finding one of my old DVDs, and the copyright date was 2002!) Would you be interested in a giveaway of some of Leslie’s DVDs?

That’s wonderful Ellie. I would be interested in a giveaway. I do a few YouTube videos but I’m so out of shape it’s hard to keep up. I am trying though. I’m trying to lose enough weight to fit into a dress that I haven’t worn in a couple of years because of my weight gain. I want to wear it for my daughter’s homeschool graduation next month.

After 6 children, I am definitely not the size I was when I got married. I hardly sit down and it’s hard to find time to exercise. But I need to find a video or something that I can easily do at home a few times a week. I’ll have to look at the videos. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I would be interested in a give a way. This seems like a great way to work out when the weather isn’t cooperative.

Hi Ellie!
I just love Leslie Sansone exercise videos. Many years ago I tried finding home workout videos to use but most were either too phony sounding, way too hard from the beginning, or just plain annoying. But then I discovered Leslie’s videos and everything changed. What you are saying in your post is 100 percent true. Her videos are for all exercise levels and she tells you how to modify them if needed. And I enjoy her tone of voice which is very important to me. She gets you motivated but in a very realistic way. I own several of her videos and now DVDs. I just never, ever get tired of her. However, I’m always open to more and would love participating in a giveaway!

I’m so excited to see you post this! I recently discovered Leslie and her gang on YouTube. It was everything I had been looking for for so long. I have very limited income and time so this was the perfect solution, plus I love walking. Yes, a giveaway would be awesome 🙂 🙂

I would love a chance to win. I have an autoimmune disease and am trying to exercise and change my diet to make things more manageable.

I probably couldn’t keep up with these exercise videos. I usually walk around and go up and down my basement steps (at my own pace), for 30 mins. few times a week… Jane

Oh my- yes! I love to exercise but weather, schedule, life, etc gets in the way many times. Oftentimes, I find myself doing squats and calf raises while I brush my teeth just to fit in some sort of exercise in the day.

I have been using Walk at home for years as well. In fact i still have the VHS tapes and use them as well as the DVDS. They are an awesome way to get a full body workout in without going to a noisy gym. I love using her program, and will be checking out her website. thanks for sharing.

I also have been walking with Leslie at home for years right in my living room! I much prefer working out at home over going out to a gym or facility to workout. I have saved so much money working out at home when I gave up my curves membership.
I even walked a in few 5k fundraisers after training with Leslie! I prefer walking inside though as it is safer for my footing and my physical needs.
Ellie, I would love to win a new walk at home DVD!
A fellow walk at home friend from Oregon….

Would LOVE a DVD! I am the same way….love to keep moving. As your child/ren get older, you find they occupy a lot of the time you used to use for yourself….which is ok too. Now that my children are older, I am full force back into working out. I am a runner, but St. Louis cold winters are not my perfect running weather. So, DVDs are it in the winter!

Get back to us when you’re much older and dealing with “body after menopause”…. That’s a whole other ball game!

I would be very interested in a DVD about walking down my blood sugar. It’s very hilly where I live and that makes it hard to walk.

I have 1 of Leslie’s walking DVD’s, too!! Love how doable and effective they are!! 🙂

Giveaways are always good in My book! 😉 My mother (of six children) has used Leslie’s workout DVD for the past few years and really likes them and so do I. We really like them because you can adapt her workout to what you feel comfortable with and I really do see a difference in my waist/stomach when I do get workouts a few times a week.

Being 2.5months postpartum this has really helped me out. Thank you! I had purchased the DVD a long time ago and forgot I had it until reading it here. I will be starting that up tomorrow for sure, it helped the first time when I had my gastric surgery, it will surely help again trying to lose the baby weight.
Heather
Oooooo! I will definitely need to look into these! I had to loose some weight before I’ll be able to have any kids and even though I’m not really fat I’m out of shape. I’ve been looking for something that I could do in the evenings when I get home from work. Thank you so much for sharing!

Since you put this up I remembered seeing a couple of Leslie Sansone DVD’s at the library so I checked them out yesterday and I am having fun exercising with them. I hope you do have a giveaway!
I really enjoy your blog and hope you keep up with it. Thanks.

I love Leslie’s DVD’s. My favorite of the ones that I have done is Four Fast Miles. It adds a little jogging which I really like. I use it five days a week. It is helping me lose weight and get healthier in general.

Thanks for the reminder about these! I started using them during my fourth pregnancy and found them especially helpful postpartum as I have c-sections. You can keep it incredibly simple or you can push yourself if you know your body. My kids join in (I have 5 now) and find it’s a great way to get rid of wiggles on the rainy days.
