This week, I celebrated the five-year blog anniversary of Nashville Wife. I am beyond grateful to all of my loyal readers, and I love communicating with everyone via the comments.
I’m curious to hear how long you have been reading the blog and how you first found out about it?
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Vanna
Happy Mother’s Day, Ellie! I don’t know how long I’ve been reading, but I found all of your blogs through my sister, who has been reading them for longer. 🙂 Congratulations on five years!
Tina
I must be one of the older readers. I remember the old blog interface too. I once clicked to see who writes the posts about the duggar family on their blog and that’s how I found out about you. It’s not that I agree with everything you say but I think you are neat. I was wondering after a a video you made with your husband discussing Reddit comments about you, if you ever read all these blogs on tumblr about fundamentalists and their families and what you think about them. I really hate the gossipy way they talk about famous “fundie” families as they call them, but I have to admit I do find many things about the fundie, conservative, lifestyle really disturbing. So sometimes I find their comments funny and to the point.
Ellie
Hi Tina! Glad to have you as a long-time reader! That’s a good question. I have seen some of those sites. It doesn’t bother me that people disagree with the way the Duggars and others choose to live their lives. I think it’s fine for people to have their own opinions. But what I just can’t understand is why some people are unable to voice their opinions respectfully. I guess it’s something that doesn’t make sense to me.

Because people sometimes passionately disagree. Hard to state that in what you would define as respectfully. Remember, you’re the final judge as to what gets posted and what doesn’t, and the discussions often get steered in certain directions depending on what you decide to post. It would be very interesting for once not to filter the responses and to let the conversations naturally evolve.

Hi Ellie,
I am also a long time reader of your blog. I think I’ve read almost all of your blogs since you began 5 years ago.
I do not always comment, only occasionally, but I really like that you communicate with your readers by responding to their comments. If you’d ever visit the Netherlands, let me know we will have a coffee together haha 😉 I feel like I know you a bit ☺️
Congratulations with this 5 year milestone!
Mieke
Ellie
Sounds wonderful, Mieke! I would love to visit the Netherlands! I spent a day visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam as a child. But I am sure there are many other beautiful places to see in your country!
I am blessed to have you as a reader.

Hi Ellie! Congrats on the blog anniversary! I think I started reading it a few months after you created it. I found it through your Duggar blog.
I loved the tips on party/wedding planning, decoration and little projects around the house, so I’ve stayed 🙂 I miss seeing more of those kinds of posts around here, by the way. Could you update us on the baby’s nursery, for example?
And something I don’t remember ever reading on this blog: can you do a post on your favorite books and why you like them?
Ellie
Hi Iris,
So glad to have you as a reader! We still haven’t done anything to the nursery. LOL. Little Buddy still sleeps in our room. I haven’t read any books for pleasure recently, but I have been reading parenting books. 🙂

I have been reading your blog for years! Found it from the Bates/Duggar’s blogs which I have read almost daily for years. I’m not a super religious person I just find both families fascinating and since I have watched the shows for so long I’m very interested in their lives. I love reading all 3 blogs! It brings a lot of joy to my life. Thank you for your blogs!
Bridget
I have only been following for about a year. I have followed the Duggars and Bates for a little over three years. I found the Duggar and Bates blogs and was following them daily. I knew that Ellie was blogging those blogs, but I didn’t actually see the link to Nashville wife for years! I came across it and clicked it, and fell in love with this blog. Thanks for all your work on it! It is very nice to see pictures and read about your daily life. Have a good day!

I’ve been reading your Duggar blog longer than your personal blog, but I can’t remember for how long. Several years. You might have been pregnant when I started following Nashvillewife.com.

Hi Ellie, Congratulations on 5 years! I found your blog after reading the Duggar and Bates blogs. You do a very nice job with all three of them and I truly enjoy reading all the updates. I’ve tried a few of your recipes, most recently the one for the breakfast potato skillet, although that would be great for any meal of the day. Keep up the great work and blessings to you, Mr. Handsome and Little Buddy!

It is already that long!? Has to be, … but don’t often stop to review and remember all of the time that has passed! Congratulations on this blogging career you have been so consistently up keeping through all of the times of your life as a couple! I for one have very much enjoyed the ongoing events you have shared!
Ellie
Thank you! I’m grateful to have you as a reader.

Congratulations on your blog anniversary, Ellie. I found it like some others, via the Duggar’s Blog that you do so well. I like to come here and read your blog. You are always so positive and helpful with recipes and child raising stories. I love the sense of humor you and your husband both have. Has he been painting during this time? Keep up the good work, both of you.
Ellie
Thank you, Barb. I am blessed to have you as a reader. Surprisingly, Mr. Handsome has not picked up a paintbrush in weeks. Well, that’s not entirely true. He hasn’t been doing his canvas paintings, but he has done plenty of house painting. We re-painted most of our interior!
